John is a popular free lance drummer, now residing in the Hollywood/Fort Lauderdale area of South Florida. He
is a graduate of the US Navy School of Music, Washington, DC and spent his military years as a concert Timpanist, and Big
Band Drummer with the First Naval District Band.
John, also had an interest in law enforcement, as well as, the
martial arts, and upon his discharge, became a police officer and law enforcement trainer in the State of New Jersey. He retired
in 2000, and relocated to South Florida, where he operates a consulting firm, specializing in Officer Survival Training. (See

Nevertheless, John maintained his musical roots, over the years, playing with various groups of every
genre. In the early years, he was a rock drummer with Arty Holmes and the Renegades; and then spent many years with the Gene
Martin Orchestra; and then, for a time, spent fun years with a comedic Band called, the Original Hillside Mudgutter
Band, which mimicked Spike Jones music. His main passion, however, has always been anything jazz.
These days,
you will find John pursuing his love of jazz, playing with various jazz groups around Florida. Two of which, are
the dynamic Jazzberry Patch, at Murphy's Pub in Ft. Lauderdale, and the mighty Ken Burkhart, and his smoking B3 organ. He
also devotes his time playing percussion and serving as Manager of the Florida 9th District American Legion Symphonic Band,
a 60+ organization of dedicated musicians representing the American Legion in South Florida.
